One large annual payment falling inside a single month makes that month read as a trend. If your costs move around, average cash out across three months before entering it. For the longer explanation, read our guide to cash burn rate.

What this figure cannot tell you

Burn rate is an average of what already happened. It cannot price a decision you have not made yet, because the two hires or the delayed customer payment are not in the average.

Cash Flow Frog builds a rolling forecast up to three years out from the data already in your accounting software, and updates it daily. Any figure drills down to the transaction behind it.
