Has anyone contacted Xero on the phone?
I've been having some technical problems with my Xero account so I decided to call Xero's help line.
The support representative logged into my account remotely and told me I had some set up issues that could result in data corruption if not addressed. So I let him fix the problem and he charged me $429 for it.
Don't you think it's a rip off? Has anyone experienced a similar situation with Xero help line?

Yes, this is a scam. Xero don’t have a help line, and never charge you for giving support.
The most important thing right now is to log back in to your account and change your password. Make sure the scammers can’t access your account.
I just googled Xero Phone number and got a company (not Xero!) that charges for Xero support.
I assume they hack your computer as well as your account. I’d seek professional help.
