Do you think that ‘Marketing Consultant’ has become a bad word?
I was JUST having this convo with my wife, it feels like there are marketing “gurus” a dime a dozen these days offering some one-size-fits-all magic pill, when it’s really just a series of upsells.
I get frustrated because I work with businesses on a very personal level to find custom solutions because that is what gets me results, but people hear marketing consultant and either scoff or assume I can press a button and make their business better.
That said, my wife does in-house marketing and definitely doesn’t seem as jaded that the industry is as saturated with bologna as I do. I think being in the consultant space it’s easy to feel like the club is getting more crowded than it actually is.
